Welcome to the Ocean Young Single Adult Branch! We serve the entire Santa Cruz California Stake, from SLV to Watsonville. Anyone between the age of 18 and 30 is welcome to attend the branch.
Our meetings begin every Sunday with Priesthood (for men) and Relief Society (for women) at 1 pm, then we combine for Sunday School at 2:00 and Sacrament at 3. On Fast Sundays (usually the first Sunday of every month), we have a special Sabbath Supper after our meetings to break our fast and socialize with each other.
Sacrament is the most sacred and important meeting of the week. It is where we come together to take the sacrament (bread and water) in remembrance of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us, and to renew the covenants we made at baptism. After we take the sacrament, we hear from assigned speakers. On Fast Sundays, we have the opportunity to share our own testimonies with each other in a special open-mic meeting.
Most of the organization in the branch is run by the branch members themselves, with the Branch Presidency as the presiding authority.
